Using the Alexa (Amazon) Popup Blocker
The Alexa toolbar Popup Blocker is enabled by default when you install the Alexa Toolbar
The Alexa Web Search Toolbar
Quick Allow
To allow a Popup only once without changing your Popup Blocker general or site settings hold down the Ctrl Key and click the link that you wish to open.
Using The Toolbar
The Popup Manager is built into Alexa Toolbar 7. When a site tries to popup a window, the Toolbar captures that and asks you whether you want to allow popups from that site. If you click Yes," the site will be added to your allow list automatically and all future popups when you are on that site will be shown. If you click the site will be added to your block list automatically and all future popups when you are on that site will be blocked. To view the sites that have been put on your allow and block lists, click the small down arrow next to the Alexa logo in the Toolbar and select from the drop down menu. The allow and block lists are in the Popup Manager section of your options page.
How to Remove Sites From the Ban List
Click the small down arrow next to the Alexa logo in the Toolbar and select from the drop down menu. The allow and block lists are in the Popup Manager section of your options page. To add a site to either list, simply type it in the appropriate box and click the button. To remove a site, highlight it by clicking it with your mouse and then click the appropriate button. When you're done, remember to scroll to the bottom of the page and click the button to save your changes.
Open a Single Popup
Even if you've blocked popups from a certain site, you can still open selected popups from them by holding down the Control (Ctrl) key while clicking the link. This will override the block list and allow the window to appear. This is particularly helpful for sites who require you to log in using a popup window.
Disable the Popup Blocker
Click the small down arrow next to the Alexa logo in the Toolbar and select Options from the drop down menu. Scroll down the Options page to the Popup Manager section and uncheck the box next to Enable Popup Manager. Don't forget to scroll to the bottom of the page and click the button to save your changes.
