Installing Microsoft Internet Explorer 7
After downloading the Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 Installer from the microsoft site open the folder containing the installer. Double click on the installer, you will be presented with the following dialog. Click Run to continue.

The installer will now extract the needed files to a temporary directory to use for the installation process..

Once the files have been extracted the install wizard will run. The Internet Explorer 7 Installer will issue you with a warning to backup your important files (you should make sure you have your important data backed up before any installation, see our backup page for more information on backing up your data). Click Next to continue.

Next you will be asked to agree to the Microsoft Software License Agreement (you will not be able to proceed with the installation of Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 if you do not agree to this license). Click I Accept to continue.

Before installing the installer wizard will ask you to validate your copy of Windows (this will ensure that the copy of windows you are running is genuine, if it is not you will be notified of this and the appropriate course of action to take). Click Validate to continue.

It may take a moment or two for Validation to complete.

The installer may now prompt you to update your Windows installation with the latest updates (you are recommended to install the latest updates to ensure you have the latest version of software to ensure the best protection for your computer). Click Next to continue.

The Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 Installer will now download the appropriate updates. This may take some time depending on the amount of information that needs to be downloaded and on the speed of your Internet connection.

Finally you will be notified that the installation of Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 is complete. You will be notified that it is now necessary to restart your computer. Click Restart Now (Recommended) to restart your computer and complete the installation.

If the installer encounters any problems during the update process you will be advised of this fact and be prompted to restart your computer. Click Restart Now (Recommended) to continue.
