What is tabbed browsing?
Tabbed browsing is a new feature in Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 that allows you to open multiple websites in a single browser window. You can open web pages or links on new tabs, and switch between them by clicking on the tab.

If you have a lot of tabs open, you can use Quick Tabs Picture of the Quick Tabs button to easily switch to other tabs. The advantage is that you have fewer items open on the task bar.

How do I open a new tab?
To open a new blank tab, click the New Tab button on the tab row or press Ctrl+T. To open a new tab when you follow a link on a web page, press Ctrl as you click the link, or right-click the link and then select Open in New Tab. If you have a mouse with a wheel, you can click a link with the wheel to open a new tab.

How do I close a tab?
Click the X on the tab to close it or press Ctrl+W.

How do I save and reopen a group of tabs?
To save a group of tabs, click the Add to Favourites button Picture of the Add to Favorites button, and then click Add Tab Group to Favourites. Give the group a name, select the folder that you want the group to be stored in, and then click Add. (see our bookmarks section for more information)

I want to close Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 but I have a lot of tabs open. Is there anything I can do to make them re-open the next time I start Microsoft Internet Explorer 7?
When you close Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, you will be asked whether you want to close all tabs. When the prompt appears, click Show Options, select Open these the next time I use Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 , and then click Close Tabs. When you reopen Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 the tabs will be restored.

I opened a lot of tabs, but I can't see them all. Where are they?
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 displays up to 10 tabs on the screen. To display all tabs, click Quick Tabs Picture of the Quick Tabs button. All open web pages will be displayed as thumbnails. Click the page you want to view.

How do I turn off tabbed browsing?

  1. In Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, click the Tools >> Internet Options.

  2. Click the General tab, and then, in the Tabs section, click Settings.

  3. Clear the Enable Tabbed Browsing check box.

  4. Click OK twice.
  5. Close Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, and then open it again.

    Tabbed browsing will now be off, and every web page will open in a new Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 window.

How do I choose whether pop-ups are displayed in a new window or on a new tab?
You can choose to always display pop-ups on a new tab, to always display them in a new window, or to let Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 decide how to display them. If you opt to let Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 decide how to display pop-ups, it will display the pop-up in a new window if the pop-up specifies size or display requirements. Otherwise, the pop-up is displayed in a new tab.

To change how pop-ups are displayed

  1. In Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, click the Tools >> Internet Options.
