This page will show how to configure and use the Forte Agent Email program.

Run Forte Agent select Options >> Inbound Email.

Click on the System tab, make sure Receive email with POP and Login with username and password are selected.

The Checkbox Use APOP password encryption should not be selected.

In Username: Type your user name as supplied i.e. username@domain.co.uk.

If you would like your computer to remember your POP3 password select Remember password between sessions.

In Password: Type your password as provided i.e. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Other options in this dialogue box should remain unselected.

Click OK to continue.

Forte Agent Inbound Email "System" tab

Select Options > > User and System Profile

Click on the "User" tab.

If your NNTP news server requires a username and password this is where you enter them.
(Typically your ISP's own news server will not require this).

In Email address: Type your email address i.e. (info@domain.co.uk).

In Full Name: Type Your Full name or company name.
This will appear on all emails sent by you. Use upper and lower case i.e. Linx Data Ltd.

In Organization: Type Your Full name or company name.
This will appear on all emails sent by you. Use upper and lower case i.e. Linx Data Ltd.

In Reply To: Type your email address i.e. (info@domain.co.uk).

In Username: Type your user name as supplied i.e. username@domain.co.uk.

If you would like your computer to remember your POP3 password select Remember password between sessions.

In Password: Type your password as provided ie. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Click on the System tab.

Select Send email messages with SMTP.

In Email Server: Type your outgoing mail server as Provided by your ISP.

Click on the SMTP Authentication button.

This is also where you add the name of the NNTP Usenet server you intend to use with Agent.
(Typically this will be the one provided by the ISP through whom you connect to the Internet)

In the SMTP Authentication dialogue if it is not already selected select Login with a username and password.

In Username: Type your user name as supplied by your ISP.

In Password: Type your password as provided by your ISP.

Click on OK to continue.

Click on OK to finish the setup wizard.
