Syndicated content
News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and video in one place, as soon as its published, without having to visit the websites where you have subscribed to feeds. Feeds are also known as RSS. There is some debate as to what RSS stands for, but most people believe that it stands for 'Really Simple Syndication'. In a nutshell; the feeds are web documents, designed to be read by feed readers and aggregators rather than people.
You may have seen the following symbols on web pages.
Though these icons may say different things they all supply RSS feeds in slightly varying formats. Most feed readers however whether they are stand alone applications or built into browsers will read all these formats. In practice you do not need to worry what format the RSS feed is served in. These different icons are now beginning to disappear as a standard icon for all feed types is now being widely accepted.

All about RSS and Atom
What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication), Atom and XML are both web technologies and have become buzzwords for modern online businesses along with another word 'syndication'. RSS, Atom and XML are technologies and implementations of technology standards that enable the process of syndicating site content and information.
So what is Syndication?
Syndication is the process of publishing regularly updated content. This could be a daily news bulletin, weekly price updates, today's whether or anything else. It could be the latest updates and news about your business and product/service information.
What can Syndication do for me?
Syndication provides updates automatically to anyone who has subscribed to your RSS feed. This means that as soon as you provide updates your customers know about them, your latest offers, products and services.
How do people receive Syndicated content?
A news reader or Aggregator is a piece of software that allows people to subscribe to and read new feeds. You may have chosen to provide new content in the Syndicated feed, or you may choose to only provide summaries of your new content and provide a link to your site where the new content resides. Keeping the content on your site instead of providing it in your Syndicated feed allows you to ensure that your content is presented as you would wish and also allows your Syndicated feed to be much smaller and therefore quicker for News readers / Aggregators to download as it does not need to contain so much information.
